Background to the Conference

The global digital economy is driving the transformation of industrial ecology, presenting novel opportunities for the event industry to undergo digital transformation and cross-regional synergy. In order to explore how digital technology can empower the upgrading of the event industry and promote the in-depth integration of international industry, academia and research, Shanghai University, the University of Surrey, City University of Macau and International Association for Events Studies (IAES) have jointly initiated this event. The objective of the event is to build a global wisdom-sharing platform and help build a new platform for open, innovative and sustainable academic and industrial cooperation in the event industry.

Types of Submissions:

  • Abstracts: Max 600 words. Include research objectives, proposed methodology, and expected outcomes.
  • Full Research Papers: Max 8 pages (including figures, tables, references).
  • Work-in-Progress: Max 8 pages (including figures, tables, references).

Note: One regular registration covers up to TEN pages. Extra pages will incur additional charges.

Reviewing Process

All manuscripts will be subjected to blind peer-reviewing and are expected to meet the scientific criteria of novelty and academic excellence.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the article’s publication has been approved by all other co-authors and takes responsibility for the paper during submission and peer review.

Review comments will be communicated, and revisions may be required by the prescribed deadline.

Plagiarism Policy:

Submissions must be original and not submitted elsewhere simultaneously. Reuse of previously published material is allowed if fully disclosed (cited) and the novel contribution of the current submission is clearly highlighted.

Publication

Each submission will be reviewed by 2-3 reviewers. Accepted and registered papers will be published in the ICECDCD2025 Conference Proceedings, indexed by Ei Compendex and Scopus.
